A dynamic management project in two parts
The five urban World Heritage sites of the AtlaS-WH network, formed through the Interreg Atlantic Area program, have set the common objective of updating their management plan. Bordeaux has chosen to include this update in a process of co-construction with the services of the city and the metropolis of Bordeaux. This approach has led more than 100 people to agree on the idea that heritage brings together all the issues of the life of the city.
Fuelled by this co-construction and exchanges with members of the AtlaS-WH network, the update the management plan was ready at the end of June 2021.
This document is divided in two parts. The first part is strategic, the second, operational.
The strategic part explains the key elements of the inscription on the World Heritage List and the description of the site, specifying the elements of its evolution since 2007. It presents the management project, the metropolitan local development strategies, the instruments of preservation and enhancement, the system of governance and management evaluation.
The operational part presents the action plan and the actions processes. The latter is available in a separate notebook, to allow more regular updating.
