Historic Centre of Florence: World Heritage Site - tools for Management
The conference series, "Historic Centre of Florence: World Heritage site - Tools for Management", aims to disseminate knowledge about world heritage, cultural heritage and UNESCO. The first conference took place on Thursday 28 February, and aimed to develop more in-depth knowledge about World Heritage and its management tools. The conferences, which will be held from February to June 2019, are organised by the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence, in collaboration with the HeRe Lab - joint laboratory of the UNESCO Office of the City of Florence and the UniFi.
The sessions and speeches in the context of the conference series aim to develop and increase knowledge associated to World Heritage and management tools of World Heritage Sites in Europe.
The meetings are organized by the DIDA - Department of Architecture of the University of Florence, in collaboration with the HeRe Lab - joint laboratory of the UNESCO Office of the City of Florence and the UniFi. The first conference took place on Thursday 28 February and introduced the UNESCO and World Heritage themes, with a specific focus on the reality of the Historic Centre of Florence as a World Heritage Site. This initiative is in line with the work being developed by AtlaS.WH, in the sense that this project seeks to define which management tools will be used in the new Management and Sustainability Plans for each WHS.
